KALK-X is a scientifically blended non-fuming combination of scale conditioning and dissolving agents in a highly corrosion preventative base. KALK-X contains no dangerous volatile acids such as hydrochloric or muriatic acids. KALK-X is safe in most cooling systems since it is non-corrosive to steel, copper, aluminum, and wood. KALK-X removes energy-wasting scale and provides for proper heat transfer in all systems.

APPLICATION AND USE

  • All boilers (steam and hot water), heat exchangers, hot water heaters, cooling towers, and evaporating coolers. As little as 0.08 mm of scale on any heat transfer surface wastes energy in any water cooling or heating system. KALK-X will remove scale and rust, returning the system to designed energy efficiency.
  • COOLING TOWERS: Drain entire system including sump, heat exchanger, and all recirculating lines. Flush all debris and refill with fresh water. Add KALK-X at the rate of 1 to 25 parts of water in system. The solution will be red. Operate system for 24 hours with the bleed shut off. Scale is still present if the solution turns blue within 24 hours. If the blue color is indicated, add an additional 1 part of KALK-X to 25 parts of water in the system. If the solution turns blue after 24 hours, flush system and repeat above steps. After scale is removed, drain system, flush and refill with fresh water.
  • BOILERS: Drain entire system, flush completely, and refill with fresh water. Open vent or remove top inspection cover.
    Light Scale: Add KALK-X at a ratio of 1 to 20 with water in the boiler.
    Heavy Scale: Add KALK-X at a ratio of 1 to 10 with water in the boiler.
    Additional water may be necessary to ensure that boiler tubes are covered completely. At low fire, heat water and recirculate KALK-X solution. DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO BOIL. After water is heated, turn off heat source and allow water to circulate throughout the system. Initial solution of KALK-X should be red. As the solution is spent the color changes to blue. If the solution turns to blue and scale remains, repeat procedure. When the system is scale free, flush and rinse thoroughly. refill with fresh water and add the proper treatment to boiler and return to service.
  • WARNING: Do not use KALK-X on galvanized or cadmium plated parts or equipment. do not use the product in any manner or for any purpose other than as prescribed.
    Always add KALK-X to the water; not the water to the KALK-X .
